Like most
great ideas, Control Alt Delete was born late one
night in 2006 over a couple beers. It all started at a little get together at the Walrath home in
Saranac Lake, NY. Doug and I started talking about
music and realized we both had a lot more in common
than we thought. We began naming great tunes from
alternative and college radio bands from the
nineties that most of the other people in the room
hadn't ever heard of - the Breeders, DaDa, School of
Fish, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Uncle Tupelo and Buffalo
Tom. At one point I remember us singing the chorus
to Spacehog's "In the Meantime." Well somebody
suggested that since we both worked at the local
radio station we should get our own show. And, in a
moment that will be forever remembered in the annals
of history, the ever-wise Joe Marocco suggested a
name - Control Alt Delete. Kick ass! To make a long
story short, we broke into the radio station one
night (not really but it sounds good doesn't it) and
took over the airwaves in true pirate-radio style.
Later, after the boss found out (and didn't really
care), we got ok'd for a regular Thursday night
timeslot. And here we are! One fun part of the
show is "Gettin Lucky in Kentucky," a weekly chat
and playlist of songs from our good friend Marc down
in moonshine country. Be sure to check out our
